Musa Mthombeni and Liesl Laurie’s Toxic Marriage is 3 Years Old
This morning, Musa Mthombeni and Liesl Laurie decided to remind us that they’ve been trapped in a loveless marriage for 3 years now. And boy, are they celebrating in style.
In a series of Instagram posts, the power couple (or so they’d have you believe) shared throwback photos and videos from their traditional wedding day, where they probably promised each other to love, honor, and tolerate each other for the rest of their lives.
Musa, being the dramatic one, wrote a poem (because, of course, he did) about their "traditional angel" (Liesl) finally realizing that the "cows" she’d been waiting for (i.e., him) were actually living their best lives. Because, let’s be real, who wouldn’t want a husband who spends his days getting spa treatments and medical check-ups?
Liesl, being the more sensible one, took a more straightforward approach, praising her husband and their love for one another. But let’s not forget, folks, this is the same woman who got stuck with a man who thinks "uMakoti ungowethu" is a good idea (for those who don’t know, "uMakoti ungowethu" is a Zulu phrase that roughly translates to "the bride is my treasure" – nice try, Musa).
But hey, who are we to judge? Love is love, and we’re just happy to see the couple’s "Aliliiiii" still going strong after all these years.
In the meantime, we’ll just be over here, raising our glasses to Musa and Liesl’s continued marriage (and probably silently questioning the sanity of their love for each other).
