BIG ZULU GETS HIS REVENGE: Intaba Yase Dubai Apologises Years After Accusing Him of Exploitation
The drama continues to unfold in the music industry, as Intaba Yase Dubai finally apologises to Big Zulu years after accusing him of exploitation. The shocking admission comes as a major blow to the KwaZulu Natal-born musician, who claimed that Big Zulu‘s label, Inkabi Records, refused to pay him a single cent despite co-writing the hit song, "Imali Eningi".
Intaba Yase Dubai, whose real name is Lindokuhle Msomi, ignited a firestorm of controversy in 2022 when he took to social media to vent about his mistreatment at the hands of Big Zulu‘s record label. In a series of explosive tweets, he revealed that he was left penniless despite the song’s massive commercial success, with over 12 million streams.
"I’m broke. Never got even R1. It’s so painful to work hard, only to become broke and watch other people benefit from your hard work," he wrote, adding a string of profanities.
Now, in a surprise turn of events, Intaba Yase Dubai has penned a heartfelt apology to Big Zulu, conceding that his past behavior was unacceptable. He also took a swipe at his former boss at Ambitiouz, Kgosi Mahumapelo, accusing him of stealing his money.
"I’m not proud of what I did… I should have stayed at home and released music without any recording deal," he said.
So, will this apology mend the rift between Intaba Yase Dubai and Big Zulu? Only time will tell.
