Lizwi Wokuqala’s Final Song: Family Pleads for Help to Lay Him to Rest

DEAD AT 25: Lizwi Wokuqala’s Family Begs for Cash to Bury Him

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the music world is reeling from the loss of 25-year-old Lizwi Wokuqala, who died in a tragic car accident alongside fellow musician Malome Vector and videographer Musa Damos Nkodo.

But what’s even more gut-wrenching is that his family can’t afford to bury him. Yes, you read that right – Lizwi’s family is begging for donations to give him a proper sendoff. Talk about a cruel twist of fate!

According to family representative Stanley Khoza, Lizwi was still an up-and-coming artist, with no financial stability to speak of. "He had just gained popularity as a promising upcoming talent. We are pleading with local businesspeople to assist us with any contribution or assistance to make sure that he gets a dignified funeral. Anything will be highly appreciated," he said.

The family is looking to raise around R100 000 (approximately $6,700) to cover the costs of the coffin, undertaker, sound, and food for the funeral. And if that’s not enough, they’re also appealing to the KZN government to step in and help resolve this financial burden.

It’s a stark reminder that even in death, Lizwi’s family is facing a financial struggle. His mother, who is unemployed, was the sole breadwinner before her son’s untimely passing. Now, she’s left to pick up the pieces and try to give her son a proper goodbye.

So, can you spare a little cash to help Lizwi’s family lay him to rest with the dignity he deserves?
