Lerato Kganyago Gets Roasted by Women on Social Media, Fertility Issue Mocked
Radio personality Lerato Kganyago has just learned the hard way that women can be just as cruel as men. After she expressed support for Miss South Africa finalist Chidinma Adetshina on social media, she was bombarded with vicious comments and bullying.
And it’s not just the usual male trolls who came for her. No, it was women – yes, women! – who were the most ruthless in their criticism. They took aim at Lerato’s fertility issues, making her a laughing stock on the internet.
But instead of feeling sorry for Lerato, some women were too busy having a field day. "Not the friend fake crying" is just one of the many savage tweets that surfaced on social media.
It’s no wonder Lerato has since deleted her Twitter account. Who can blame her? The internet can be a brutal place, and sometimes it’s better to just log off and forget about it.
But before we all condemn the women who bullied Lerato, let’s take a closer look at our own behavior. Are we really any better? Do we always have to be kind and compassionate, or can we just take a moment to indulge in a little online schadenfreude?
