BOYCOTT THE OVERRATED DEATH OF TITO MBOWENI!
The Twitterverse is having a field day, folks!
The former finance whiz and first black head of the South African Reserve Bank, Tito Mboweni, has finally kicked the bucket. But do you know what’s really got people riled up? His no-frills tombstone!
expo Tito Mboweni got buried in a state funeral, surrounded by waterworks and eulogies, but what really got the internet talking was the simplicity of his tombstone in the Bodweni Cemetary, Limpopo.
People are losing their minds over the fact that it’s not as over-the-top as they expected. “I was expecting a dramatic white tombstone, currency notes with his signature, and a parliament building,” one Twitter user quipped. Another user chimed in, “Really… this tomb looks like it’s on the cheap side!”
But hey, it looks like Mboweni’s plan all along was to keep it real, even in death. As one Twitter user aptly put it, “Glad they captured his real lifestyle, he didn’t like flashy and showing off.”
