William Shocker: Nomzamo Mbatha Wins Big at SAFTAs 18, Social Media Can’t Contain Herself!
In a jaw-dropping moment, talented South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha took home the award for Best Actress in a TV drama at the 18th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). And to make it even more thrilling, she revealed the stunning look she rocked to the event on Instagram!
But that’s not all – news has it that the drama "Shaka iLembe" not only won the award for Best TV Drama but also snagged a whopping 11 other trophies in different categories. And the cherry on top? The show created 10,000 jobs and employed hundreds of crew members who worked tirelessly to bring the drama to life.
Nomzamo took to her Instagram page to express her gratitude and amazement, writing: "I feel deeply honored by the recognition from the judges and fellow creatives… mostly for the opportunity to have portrayed Princess Nandi, who went on to become Queen Mother."
She went on to thank her co-workers, directors, hair and makeup teams, and language coaches, saying, "The amount of respect I have for my fellow actors, the deep, deep love for the crew… my directors, hair and makeup, costume design, my language coaches… the list goes on." She also gave a special shoutout to fellow producers and supporters, calling them "the visionaries that are @zwabheka & @bomb_productions, the leadership of @sasapiliso, Calvo Mawela, and the indelible support of @multichoice_group."
And to top it all off, Nomzamo issued a heartfelt message to women and girls everywhere: "I continue to learn, to desire growth, and hopefully to inspire all women and girls – to always hold on to the purpose of your life, its timing, and to trust the process. I am living proof of what the mercy of God can do."
