MINISTER’S OLYMPIC ‘JOYRIDE’ EXPOSED: Gayton McKenzie SLAMS Report of Over R800,000 Spending Spree
The Minister of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, is at it again, lashing out at a report claiming he splurged over R800,000 on his trip to the 2024 Olympics.
In a tweet, the outspoken minister fired back at the report, saying, “I left for the Olympics on the first day they started, but I didn’t attend the Olympics, I only went for government meetings with other ministers from other countries. I didn’t watch the glamorous events, I was working, not partying on the taxpayers’ dime!”
McKenzie backed up his claim with photos, saying he attended six meetings in Paris before the Olympics, greeted athletes at the athletic villa, and watched the games on TV, among other activities.
But is he telling the whole truth? Insiders claim McKenzie’s trip was anything but a brief, innocent encounter, and that he’s trying to spin a lemon into a lemonade.
“This is just another example of McKenzie’s deceitful tactics,” said a source close to the minister. “He’s been known to mislead the public and manipulate the truth to suit his own agenda.”
The controversy surrounding McKenzie’s trip comes at a time when government officials are under increasing scrutiny for their use of public funds.
One thing is certain, Gayton McKenzie is no stranger to controversy and his sharp tongue has gotten him into hot water more than once. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
